CANYON DREAMS
Dreams have a way of slipping into reality. It wasn't long ago that my guest facility was only a dream, now it is a partially completed project with a business plan. Soon we will have fine accomodations for anyone wanting to escape from the confines of their mundane existence. The school is a good place for artists and writers to concentrate their creative energies. We have classroom space for seminars and workshops. I hope to become a little-known destination spot for the truely adventurous traveler. If I can find someone who wants to do a restaurant with me, then The Rusty Egg, a cafe of uncommon cuisine, will someday serve, not only the guests, but oilfield and ranching community. I am looking toward becoming an archaeo-ecotourist mecca, and perhaps having a couple of archaeological field schools here every summer. I'd like to teach a grass identification class and maybe start a cottonwood tree farm. I'd like to network with teachers and trainers that want to use the facility for pro-social workshops and seminars. With 10,000 square feet under our roof, anything could happen. Maybe you have an idea?
I think that what ever eventually coalesces from the universe, I would most like to help people find the hero within themselves, to have them leave the canyon feeling stronger, more competent, and ready to make a difference in the world out there. That's a pretty grandiose dream!
Our thanks to hostel.com, The Caretaker's Gazette. and the various hostels that put up our flyer. Our volunteers found us through these advertisements and have helped us begin make our dreams come true.
