All about us.

First, you should know that John is a 2° Scorpio, so naturally he doesn't want me to tell you anything, but I am a 29° Sagittarian, so I have no secrets. This webpage is a compromise.

John and I were married on 12 March, 1993, after knowing each other for 12 years and surviving prior doomed relationships. We each have a son by previous marriages/relationships, but our kids, Abe and Lee, are more or less grown up. We live with our pets, three dogs and a couple of "working cats". We are pretty much excited about our projects, so in our "free time", we just keep working on the same stuff as if we were "working". Well, that is an optimal lifestyle! We read (him: Truck & Trader News, High Plains Journal, Government Computer News, Inner Edge, and The Futurist; her: Science News, lately math, programming, or electrical books, esoteric, synchronicity, or philosophy) in the evenings and take moonlight strolls around the canyon even when there is no moonlight.

John does a balancing act between being a metal sculpture artist and a buisnessman. He was a Certified Public Accountant for many years, but he disliked the pressure of tax filing, so he does other things for a living. He is a free-spirit in many ways. Ever since I have known him, I have always thought he was one of the most honorable humans on the planet. For most people, he is kind of hard to get to know. He is the kind of guy that dreams of owning a bridge crane and a bigger plasma welder. He is, appropriately for a Scorpio, in charge of the school plumbing.

My balancing act is between the physical and mental realms. I studied plant taxonomy for years as it was the perfect academic endeavor for someone who likes to wander around under the open sky. Now days, I am working on my dissertation (concerning thistle taxonomy). I like the challenge of learning new things, so I am learning to be a carpentress, studying to take my residential electrician's exam, and learning to do graphic design for advertising. Of course, by the time you read this, that will have changed. I am in charge of woodworking, planning, and bread baking at the school. Sometimes on the phone I pose as the principal, unless of course the situation calls for me to pose as the janitor.

Last year we had a business trip to Las Vegas and renewed our wedding vows at the Little Chapel Drive-up Tunnel of Love, then we went to a casino to have our wedding photos taken. This one was ever so much better than the white dress and tuxedo. In my normal life, I am not a blonde. Doesn't he look like a Scorpio?
