Principles and Guidelines
GENERAL PRINCIPLES
- We acknowledge that the need for change (conflict) is a neccessary step in transformation.
- We treat each other with respect.
- We assume responsibility for our own behavior.
- We acknowledge our groups diversity.
- We value different points of view.
- We take responsibility for sharing our perspective.
- We engage in active listening.
- We seek solutions rather than finding fault.
MEETING GUIDELINES
- Each person receives time to state their opinions and perspectives.
- The right to speak is transferred to the person on the right of the current speaker.
- The speaker will begin by acknowledging comments already made and will close by checking for group understanding.
- All attendees will avoid sniveling.
- Abusive language and disrespect will not be allowed.
- Each meeting will have a facilitator.
- Guidelines can be suspended or modified by consensus, but principles must stand as stated.
