Abe was born in the winter of
1978 in a town and state he never lived in, thus perpetuating the
dilemma of how to answer when people ask where he is from. He has
traveled a great deal in his life, first as a child of migrant
reforestation workers, then as the child of yuppie parents that
wanted him to see the world. Abe is a student of the ineffable.
Here is a black and white of his first encounter with the
ineffability of the ocean. He plopped down on the sand and stared
at the waves for about 10 minutes. I think he is always in search
of ways to return to that transfixed state of consciousness.
He is by instinctive response
the heroic type. Maybe that is because as a child he rode
everykind of critter that we got near. He said that when he grew
up he wanted to be a Cowboy SeaDiver. A young man living in the
archetype of Pecos Bill. Nowdays, he likes dogs and guns, and he
even talks of going into gunsmithing school.
Abe is the kind of guy that will look you spang in the eye and tell you the truth, even if it's not what you wanted to hear. I am very proud of him.
