BIOGRAPHY

Sydney-based author/journalist Ken Anderson, aged 58, has written four books on the subject of coincidence/synchronicity. His publishers, Blandford describe him as "probably the world's leading collector and archivist of the whole experience of coincidence."

In his journalistic career spanning nearly 40 years he has been a foreign correspondent, newspaper executive, columnist, reporter and features writer. He has had articles published on a wide variety of subjects in major newspaper and magazines mainly in Australia and the United Kingdom including The Sunday Times, and News of the Word, London, The Australian and The Daily Telegraph, Sydney. At present he divides his time between writing books and as a part-time section editor of The Daily Telegraph, Sydney.

He has appeared on national, city and regional TV and radio in Australia and the United Kingdom to discuss his books and deal with caller's questions. He has also been an advisor for major TV productions including The Paper Man, Coincidences and The Extraordinary.

Chance or Fate? is described by its publishers as "one of the largest collections of true tales of coincidence ever published. It goes on: "with research that has ranged far and wide, Ken Anderson conducts an expedition through the largely uncharted territory of remarkable chance. But this is more than just a collection of stories, fascinating and baffling though they may be. Rather than simply a string of such events, Ken Anderson attempts to examine the very real question of the meaning of coincidences as objectively as possible. Thus, as well as a wry, amusing and remarkable series of stories, the book also offers serious insight and guidance to those who have, or wish to develop a heightened awareness of the very nature of coincidence.

Some readers' comments on Chance or Fate?

I am teaching a course on paranormal experiences, and came across your book Coincidences Chance or Fate? It was a marvelous find, and has been very helpful to me in this part of my research. It is the first formal study I have ever found on the subject. I also appreciate your effort to discover "meaning:" of these events. That is quite courageous. Your interpretation of the phenomenon in terms of probability theory is interesting, but I agree that is "probably" due to some spiritual law which we have yet to discover. --- Rev. John W. Sloat, Edinburg, Pennsylvania.

I checked out coincidences from the local public library and read it completely through in one sitting. That means it's absolutely interesting and very relevant to my life. --- Catherine Cline, Jacksonville, Florida.

I enjoyed your book very much, I read a review about it and ran out and bought it and read it last night, it was great! -- John Drake, Irving, Texas.

I love your book. Not only is it the greatest and most amazing collection of truly extraordinary occurrences and coincidences, you have also done much far reaching and diverse research into the meaning of coincidences that I can only marvel. Eye-catching chapter headings make finding favorite passages easy. So, besides being a serious study for those of us who collect them Coincidences lends itself beautifully to serving as a coffee table book. People will invariably want to share their own amazing experiences even if at other times, they'd be hard-pressed to admit them at all -- Ute Kaboolian, Cliffside Park, New Jersey.

I have enjoyed reading your book. -- Hilary Sumner, Unionville, Connecticut.

I have read with pleasure Coincidences which hints somehow at an invisible intelligence force beyond. I wish you success. -- Peter Suba, The Archimedes Foundation, Toronto, Canada.

The subject is very intriguing and the book much enjoyed. -- Robert Beame, Milton-Freewater, Oregon, USA.

I appreciate and congratulate you for the great pains you have taken to complete this invaluable and treasured book. I sincerely pray the almighty to bless you with more energy, support and courage for your sincere and dedicated research work on this and whatever new topics/issues you are going to undertake.---S. Hari Haran Iyer, Pimpri, Pune, Maharashtra State. India.

I have just finished reading your book and I found it fascinating. Coincidence is something we can all relate to; it probably happens more often than we are even aware of. ---Rhonda Russell, of Hastings, Victoria, Australia.

Thank you for your book. It was fun to read. ---Sharon Martens of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Keep up the good work and may God bless you in all your efforts. ---Lilian Mahoney of Coventry, England

Ken Anderson believes the most important issue in the coincidence/synchronicity debate is to find a balance between the skeptics view that coincidences are mere chance and the spiritual view that ALL coincidences are significant, that nothing happens by chance. Not an easy task!
