The Thistle Project
Patricia Barlow-Irick, Ph.D.The purpose of this project is to foster collaboration on taxonomy of the genus Cirsium. The approach is to facilitate communication between people interested in the topic and promote working towards consensus.
This will be done through three methods:
- provide a means for people of the subject to communicate with each other through a listserv;
- provide a place to electronically publish and archive information relating to taxonomy of Cirsium, including current studies and older descriptions;
- organize and facilitate workshops to bring people and specimens together to come to consensus about some of the more prickly taxonomic questions.
Cirsium-L@unm.edu A restricted subscription and archived discussion group for people with an interest in thistle taxonomy.
