Next we have the model that celebrates diversity. If some variation is good, then perhaps lots of variation might be even better. A taxon might either manufacture its own variation through high levels of mutation or it might import variation from a sister taxon, co-opting some of the evolutionary novelty of its kin. Hybridization and promotion of variation are the key features of this model, which in celebrating diversity, is at least politically correct.
